Choosing the right location is one of the most enjoyable parts of planning a photoshoot. During our preparation call we will talk through the theme you have in mind and decide together which setting in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland will support the mood you want. There are many beautiful options, but a location does not need to be spectacular to create stunning portraits. The most important element is always the person in front of the camera.
If you are drawn to a modern, urban look, places like the Surrey Central Library or the area around Burnaby Metrotown offer clean lines, interesting architecture and a contemporary feel. For clients who love the classic Vancouver scenery, the waterfront provides a stunning mix of water, mountains and open sky. These locations work beautifully for portraits, couples sessions and lifestyle shoots.
For a more natural environment, we do not need to venture deep into the forest. A small path in a quiet neighborhood park is often enough to create that soft, natural mood many clients love. The Lower Mainland is full of these little pockets of greenery where the light is gentle and the surroundings feel calm. These simple locations often produce some of the most authentic and relaxed portraits.
If you choose one of the more popular parks, please note that some locations require a photo permit. Clients are responsible for arranging these permits. No matter where we go, the goal is to create a comfortable experience and choose a location that feels right for you.
